In spite of the turmoil in the housing market, both current homeowners and renters seem to feel that homeownership is still preferable to renting. Nevertheless, there are many factors along with the housing crisis that are moving many towards renting.

Fannie Mae sponsored a study that shows trends in home ownership. To see the reports, CLICK HERE.

Along with the reports, this website has lots of information on how homeowners can avoid foreclosure.

Remember, I am a Certified HAFA (Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternative) agent and I am helping other homeowners in the Tampa Bay area avoid foreclosure. Even if the homeowner has to ultimately sell their house, choosing a HAFA process will help them avoid a deficiency judgment.

Since most still see homeownership as preferable, Community Empowers Lease-To-Own can help. It helps buyers because it prepares the buyer for homeownership and allows them to “rent” the home for 18 months while receiving credit counseling and savings towards a down payment. It helps sellers because the seller can move on knowing that the rent is guaranteed and, if purchasing another home, lenders may look at that more favorably than just renting their current home or a traditional lease/option/purchase arrangement.
